Welcome to The Foragers Journal

The Forager's Journal

There's something that happens when you slow down on a trail and actually look at what's around you. The forest floor opens up. Details you've walked past a hundred times suddenly come into focus. That's the idea behind The Forager's Journal, a space for the curious, the outdoorsy, and anyone who feels most alive when they're out in it.

This journal is rooted in the Pacific Northwest, Oregon and Washington, and everything that makes this corner of the world so extraordinary. We're out here on the trails, in the woods, on the beaches, along the rivers, behind waterfalls, and deep in the kind of campsites that make you forget what day it is. We forage, study wildflowers, chase light through old-growth forest, and keep a running list of places we want to go back to as soon as possible.

We're not experts. We're explorers and students. And this is where we document all of it. The incredible finds, the hikes worth doing twice, the hidden swimming holes, the coastal tide pools, the mountain views that stop you mid-step, and the trails that feel like they were made for the kind of person who always takes the long way home.

We'll also shine a light on the places that make the Pacific Northwest more than just scenery. The local restaurants worth pulling off the highway for, the small towns with more character than most cities, the hidden gems and local businesses that are as much a part of the Oregon and Washington story as the landscapes that surround them.

And here's the thing. This isn't a highlight reel. It's a real journal, and we mean that. You'll get the stunning sunrise from the summit and the week-long camping trip where it rained every single day without a break. The wrong turn that added three miles to a hike. The campfire that refused to light. The muddy boots, the soggy gear, and the moments where you look at each other and just start laughing because what else are you going to do. Those stories are just as much a part of this as the beautiful ones, and honestly sometimes they're our favorites.

Stay tuned for our next post. We recently spent time on the Oregon coast hunting for agates and exploring tide pools, and we can't wait to share what we found.
